What is your background and how did you get into photography?
Many years travelling with cameras lead to a Visual Arts Degree from Sydney College of the Arts, then 21 years studio based business in Sydney.
What type of photography do you shoot?
Essentially Portraiture and Travel
What is your favourite type of photography?
Portraiture … currently Pantraits or Panorama Environmental Portraits
What is your photographic style? How did you develop this style?
Honest communication with people for best results. Many many sessions.
What is in your photography kit?
Lumix GH3, 2 x kit lenses, panorama rail & light weight tripod.
What is one piece of photography kit you just couldn’t live without?
GH3
What post processing tools/software do you use?
Lightroom, Photoshop and Macphun
What is your best photography tip and post processing tip?
Stay simple stupid! Pre-visualise and learn Lightroom
What was your greatest challenge so far as a professional photographer?
When assigned to shoot a cover shot of Sir Peter Ables for a Singaporian Magazine. A very powerful and impatient man and after only 2 mins, or 8 frames of 120 film, he walked ….. but I managed a classic frame and it was used worldwide …… he had growled at me!
What is your favourite InkFX medium to have your work printed on & why?
Fine Art Photo Rag Satin Paper for the Highest Exhibition quality.
If you were able to give any advice or recommendations to someone starting out in their Photography career what would it be?
Involve your passion, all else that is worthy will follow.
Any last words of wisdom or advice?
Look, look and look again, then choose the decisive moment, Content over technique. Stay simple stupid 🙂
